Went drinking again 2day... this time with JW. He brought me to this place called Mewton Hotel. Hahaa dun be fooled by its name.. its not really so much of a hotel like the others. Its a pretty run down place. First in order to get there... have to really walk into a deep and dark deserted lane.
At 1st sight, it looks like those haunted mansion that always appear on horror movies... especially at night. Its really really errie with the wooden slits trying to keep the building in place and the stand alone building hidden in concealment behind the undergrowth.
The only entrance is through the steel gate that seem rusty. There's no air con and no lavish furnishing.. only fans dangling from the ceiling, trying real hard to serve its life sentence. The stench of dust and the wood greeted me when i stepped into the building. The place was not even lighted up...with only a small light bulb at the counter n i could barely make out the shape of the "bartender" from the counter. Squinting my eyes, it was a lady. She turned and looked at us as if we have invaded into her territory, disturbing her from the serenity. Then did i hear the familiar sound... the music coming out from a radio!! It was 933....Lucky JW had been a regular to the place and after getting our can of beer, we sat down to chat n rest. It was then did i had a good look at the place. The place was really dilapidated, it look like those kinda building from the 80s. Yah!! preserved and stored in a ulu ulu corner at ORCHARD!! Its like those kinda buildings from the Jap occupation!! The furniture is old from age with those retro cushions from the 80s. Haha i can even picture ANG MOH sailors in their uniform partying and dancing around the place!!
Okok enough of Mewton. After that we headed down to GRapeVine at serangoon. An exact contrast from Mewton i would say... Aircon with red cosy striking cushion. Its a great place!! and i like it cause its a place where beautiful pple hang out.. Cheap yet relaxing place to chill out minus the point that its FAR!! its a kinda place that you can just sit back and waste the rest of your night away doing nothing except talking and stoning... (ain't i getting old??) but the stoopid is.. the place close at 1am!! What a waste.... So home was the final stop left....
